Rock icons AC/DC are making a long-awaited return to Scotland this summer — and it’s their only UK stop on their new Power Up Tour.
The band will wrap up a 12-date, 10-country European tour with a huge concert at Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh on 21 August. It’s their first Scottish performance since 2015, when they played Hampden Park.
A Homecoming of Sorts
While the band formed in Australia in 1973, they’ve always had a deep connection to Scotland. Brothers Malcolm and Angus Young, both born in Glasgow, were founding members. And former frontman Bon Scott, who was born in Angus, is still celebrated every year at BonFest in Kirriemuir, his Scottish hometown.
Lead singer Brian Johnson has said the band has a “big connection” with Scotland and that their latest album was made in part to honour Malcolm, who passed away in 2017.
“He was the band,” Johnson said. “Him and Angus started it, but it was Malcolm’s idea. He was our spiritual leader.”
The Power Up Tour
The Power Up Tour is named after AC/DC’s most recent studio album — their first since Malcolm’s death. The tour kicks off in the Czech Republic on 26 June, and the Edinburgh date marks the grand finale.
It’s a big summer for Murrayfield Stadium, with Oasis also booked for three nights in August — but AC/DC’s one-night-only show is sure to be a highlight for rock fans across the UK.

With over 200 million albums sold worldwide and a place in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame since 2003, AC/DC’s legacy is still going strong — and this show promises to be a night to remember.
