In a turn of events that no one saw coming, it seems men have finally embraced the comfortable, sheepskin lined footwear that has been a staple of women’s wardrobes for decades. Yes, that’s right. Uggs for men are now a thing, and apparently, a very profitable one.

Deckers Outdoor, the company that owns the Ugg brand, recently announced that their sales absolutely crushed expectations, and it’s all thanks to the fellas. While Ugg’s primary audience is still women, the company’s men’s division saw a massive 38% growth in the last quarter alone. It seems men only want one thing: chunky shoes that feel like a hug for your feet.

From Uggly to Ubiquitous

This trend didn’t happen overnight. The brand has been making a concerted effort to attract male customers in recent years, even collaborating with certified style icon Post Malone. It seems the strategy worked, proving that nothing sells a product to men quite like a rapper wearing it.

Uggs, once a winter only fashion faux pas, are now being sold year round, with the brand pushing new sneakers and sandals to a growing male audience. This shift from cold weather comfort to all season style has proven to be a masterstroke.

The success of Uggs for men is part of a larger trend in the footwear industry. Upstart brands like Hoka, also owned by Deckers, are stealing market share from giants like Nike with their own chunky, comfortable running shoes. It seems the days of sleek, minimalist footwear are over, and the era of the big, bold, and wonderfully ugly shoe has arrived.
