Everton have announced that their final pre-season fixture will take place at their new Hill Dickinson Stadium, with Italian side AS Roma set to visit on Saturday, 9 August at 3pm BST. The game will mark a significant milestone for the club as it becomes the first full capacity match at the waterfront venue, with all 52,888 seats available to supporters.
The fixture will serve as the final test event ahead of the 2025/26 Premier League season, following a series of restricted-attendance trials that introduced fans to Everton’s state-of-the art new home. It will also be the first chance for season ticket holders to sit in their newly selected seats for the upcoming campaign a long-awaited moment for many.
The match against Roma concludes a varied pre-season schedule for David Moyes’ side. Everton opened with domestic fixtures against Accrington Stanley and Blackburn Rovers, before heading across the Atlantic for a tour of the United States, where they faced Bournemouth, West Ham, and Manchester United. And while the trip to Accrington may have been historic in its own right, the weather did its best to dampen spirits offering the kind of conditions more suited to midweek cup ties in November than summer warm-ups.
