Let us drop the polite newsreader act for five seconds and talk about how the entire British political establishment operates, shall we? Because if you want proof that our political system is rotten to the absolute core, look no further than the Blair family’s sudden takeover of taxpayer funded artificial intelligence.
It is not just one political party. It is all of them. Conservatives, Labour, backbenchers, peerages, non executive directorships, lucrative board seats, and political donations. The entire system functions as a closed loop country club for the ruling class. Ordinary working people graft at two or three jobs just to pay their energy bills, while the politically connected treat the Treasury like an endless personal cash machine.
Half a Billion Pounds for the Daughter-in-Law
Let us look at the facts. In April, the government created the brand new UK Sovereign AI Fund, a massive £500 million pot of public money. And who did they appoint as managing partner to oversee taxpayer investments between £1 million and £20 million per company? Suzanne Ashman. Who happens to be married to Euan Blair, son of former Prime Minister Tony Blair.
You literally could not write a more blatant parody of British nepotism. A half billion pound fund of hard earned public cash handed over to Tony Blair’s daughter-in-law to play venture capitalist. But wait, it gets so much worse.
Euan Blair’s Taxpayer Funded Empire
Because the Blair family AI gravy train does not stop with Suzanne. Let us talk about Euan Blair’s company, Multiverse. Multiverse delivers tech apprenticeships and AI training, valued at over one and a half billion pounds. Last year alone, the firm generated tens of millions of pounds in revenue.
And where did the vast majority of that money come from? Government apprenticeship levy funds! That is right. You, the taxpayer, funded his company’s massive valuation. To top off the absolute absurdity, Doug Gurr sits on the advisory board of Multiverse while simultaneously advising the government on AI policy. The conflict of interest is so blindingly obvious that you have to wonder if they even bother hiding it anymore.
Different Rules for the Ruling Class
This entire story exposes the fundamentally rigged nature of modern Britain. Ordinary people have to compete in an brutal, unforgiving open market. If a small business owner makes a mistake, they go under. But if you have the right surname and political connections, you do not need to compete. You just secure a government contract, take a seat on an advisory board, or get handed a state fund to manage.
Remember the pandemic? Remember when the Conservative government handed £1.4 billion in failed, useless PPE contracts to political donors and mates with VIP lane access? It is the exact same playbook, regardless of who sits in Downing Street. The Tories gave billions to their donors; Labour icons draw down millions in state contracts. The faces change, but the trough remains exactly the same.
We live in a country where a former prime minister’s family still holds massive, unchecked influence over public money decades after he left office. It is complete and utter administrative corruption, and everyone watching should be absolutely furious.
